Darlene has been painting and creating art for over 35 years.
Now the passion continues with pastels. Using pastels has given Darlene a new window to express her creativity in art. She loves the colors that pastels bring and the softness that is created in her pieces.
Welcome, enjoy the beauty in her art as it takes you from one beautiful place to another!
Darlene has had an interest in art for most of her life. She has studied art at Ventura Community College under the direction of such instructors as Gerd Koch and Carlisle Cooper.
Over the years, her passion for color in nature has sustained a deep desire to grow as an artist. As a longtime resident of the beautiful Ojai Valley, Darlene has been inspired and encouraged by mentors such as Margarite Hardman, Doris Scott, Jannene Behl and Bert Collins.
Darlene's work is thriving as she continues to create inspired pieces using pastels.
Darlene has the ability to capture a brief moment and turn it into a work of art. She truly enjoys the palette of light in everyday.
Darlene feels overwhelmingly blessed by God to have the opportunity to express the divinity of nature, from the dramatic and plunging cliffs of the California coast, to the subtle movement of color in a green leaf wafting lazily in a backyard breeze.
